Preparation:

Cleanliness:- Ensure that the pooja space is clean. This can be done at home or at your workplace, especially if you're in a profession related to construction or engineering.

Materials Needed:- A picture or idol of Lord Vishwakarma, Flowers and garlands, Fruits and sweets (prasad), Incense sticks and a diya (oil lamp), Red or yellow cloth, A small bowl of water, Tools and equipment related to your work (if applicable)

Steps for Vishwakarma Pooja:

Setting up:-

Place the Idol or Picture:- Set up the picture or idol of Lord Vishwakarma on a clean pedestal or altar.

Arrange Offerings:- Place fresh flowers, fruits, sweets, and other offerings on the altar.

Pooja Rituals:

Ganesh Pooja:- Begin by offering prayers to Lord Ganesha to remove obstacles and ensure the success of the pooja.

Invoking Vishwakarma:- Light the diya and incense sticks. Invite Lord Vishwakarma to be present during the pooja.

Offering Water:- Offer water in a clean vessel and pour it gently in front of the idol or picture, while reciting the Vishwakarma mantra:

Aarti:- Perform aarti by waving a lit lamp in front of Lord Vishwakarma’s idol or picture. This is done while singing devotional songs or prayers.

Blessing of Tools and Equipment:- If you are in a profession involving tools or machinery, place these items near the altar and perform a symbolic worship to seek blessings for their proper functioning and success in your work.

Concluding the Pooja:

Offer Prasad:- Distribute the prasadam (blessed food) among family members, colleagues, or workers.

Prayers:- Conclude with prayers for success, safety, and prosperity in your work or profession.

Clean-Up:- Properly clean the pooja area and dispose of any used items respectfully.

Additional Notes:

Timing: Vishwakarma Pooja is traditionally performed on September 17th or 18th, which is celebrated as Vishwakarma Jayanti. However, the pooja can be performed on any auspicious day according to your convenience and regional practices.

Celebrations:- In some regions, especially in industrial areas or factories, Vishwakarma Pooja involves a more elaborate celebration with processions, music, and cultural performances.
