New Vehicle Pooja is a Hindu ritual performed before using a new vehicle for the first time. This pooja is conducted to seek the blessings of deities for the vehicle’s safety, longevity, and smooth performance. Key Features

Timing and Dates:- The pooja is typically performed on an auspicious day, such as a Friday, or any other favorable day based on Hindu calendar and astrology.

  • It is often done on the day of taking delivery of the vehicle or shortly thereafter.

Preparation:-

Clean the Vehicle:- Ensure the vehicle is clean and ready for the pooja.

Gather Pooja Items:- Ganesh idol or image, Kalash (sacred water pitcher), Diya (oil lamp) and incense sticks, Flowers, fruits, and sweets, Rice, turmeric powder, vermilion, and kumkum, A new cloth or saree for the deity

Steps for Performing New Vehicle Pooja

Setup the Pooja Space:- Choose a clean, suitable spot where the vehicle is parked, or perform the pooja in a designated pooja area if necessary.

  • Place a clean cloth or a mat on the ground if needed.

Perform Ganesh Pooja:- Light the diya and incense sticks, Offer prayers to Lord Ganesha to remove obstacles and ensure a smooth journey.

  • Place an idol or image of Lord Ganesha on a small platform or table.

Kalash Pooja:-

Kalash Setup:- Fill the Kalash with water and place it near the vehicle or on the pooja platform. Decorate it with mango leaves and a coconut on top.

Prayers:- Perform the Kalash pooja, offering prayers to seek blessings for the vehicle and its usage.

Vehicle Pooja Rituals:

Offerings:- Offer flowers and fruits to the vehicle. You can also place a small amount of rice, turmeric powder, and vermilion on the vehicle.

Aarti:- Perform aarti (waving of the lighted lamp) around the vehicle while singing devotional songs or hymns.

Chanting and Prayers:- "Om Gan Ganapataye Namah" (for Ganesh). "Om Namah Shivaya" (for general blessings and protection)

Vehicle Inspection:- If possible, check the vehicle’s various components such as tires, lights, and brakes to ensure everything is in proper condition.

Distribution of Prasad:- Offer prasad (food offerings) to family members and guests present during the pooja.
